Business Insider recently reported that Convey raised $38 million from Andreessen Horowitz and other investors to build AI teammates that automate repetitive office work across organizations. Rather than replacing entire departments, the company is focused on augmenting knowledge workers with AI employees capable of executing routine operational tasks.
Researchers are observing the same evolution in software engineering, where AI teammates increasingly collaborate alongside developers by writing code, reviewing pull requests, generating documentation, identifying bugs, and creating automated tests.
The implication is significant. The constraint for building companies is becoming less about access to labor and increasingly about how effectively founders orchestrate people and intelligent systems together.
